Whiskies - Campletown Malts

Campbeltown in the Mull of Kintyre, typically produces peated malts with marine, sea air characteristics. During the 19th century, this region was effectively the centre of the malt whisky industry with 34 distilleries. The current total is three, Glengyle, Glen Scotia and Springbank. Springbank actually produces three different styles of malt, Hazleburn (unpeated), the eponymous Springbank (lightly peated) and Longrow (heavily peated).
